The long-standing mystery of the narrator for Channel Nine’s Married At First Sight has finally been unraveled, revealing an unexpected voice behind the scenes. Contrary to popular belief that Today show star Georgie Gardner was the narrator, it has now been confirmed that the role is filled by Home and Away actress Helen Dallimore.

A representative for Dallimore, 53, disclosed to Yahoo Lifestyle that she has been the voice of the show for several years. Confusion regarding the narrator’s identity has persisted, particularly since Gardner, 54, voiced the series for its first four seasons before stepping away in 2017. Despite this, several online platforms still inaccurately credit Gardner as the current narrator.

Though Dallimore does not receive on-screen credit for her contributions to MAFS, she is widely recognized as one of Australia’s premier actresses. A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), Dallimore has showcased her talent in notable Australian productions, including All Saints, House Husbands, and Water Rats.

Gardner originally took on the MAFS narration in 2015, but Dallimore has held the position since 2018. Many fans mistakenly believed Gardner continued in the role due to outdated information on the Internet Movie Database.

Former MAFS star Ollie Skelton, who is also a voiceover artist, praised Dallimore’s ability to navigate the show’s twists and turns. “It would be the best gig in the world,” he shared with Yahoo Lifestyle last year, highlighting Dallimore’s wit and charm that add depth to the narration.

Dallimore is best known for her stage performances, particularly her role as Glinda in the West End production of Wicked in 2006. She also made an appearance as Mitzy in Home and Away in 2010 and has recently featured in Channel Ten’s crime drama North Shore.

In a recent episode, sharp-eared MAFS viewers found themselves amused when an unexpected sound, resembling a fart, echoed during a discussion between relationship experts John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla and contestants Ryan Donnelly and Jacqui Burfoot. Viewers took to social media to express their surprise, with one user humorously noting, “Someone farting! We have replayed it three times to make sure it wasn’t one of us.”

Fans of MAFS are known for their keen eyes, frequently spotting awkward editing mistakes that make it to the final cut. Recently, viewers also noted a wardrobe blunder when two grooms from different seasons were seen wearing the same jacket during the show.
