Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, stated that the supply chains of aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus are showing signs of moderate improvement.
According to a report by Reuters, Douglas acknowledged that there are still significant challenges, emphasizing that supply chains remain under immense pressure.
He pointed out that one of the ongoing obstacles lies with suppliers serving both Boeing and Airbus, which exacerbates existing issues.
Douglas further noted that Riyadh Air is actively working to overcome these challenges and is currently engaged in the process of selecting additional wide-body aircraft.
According to Argaam data, Riyadh Air signed an agreement last October to purchase 60 Airbus A321neo aircraft in preparation for the start of its operations in 2025.
Bloomberg recently reported that Riyadh Air is in discussions with Boeing and Airbus to order an additional 50 wide-body aircraft.
Riyadh Air aims to launch flights to more than 100 global destinations by 2030. Following its establishment, the airline announced its first fleet order with the purchase of 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
