Cameron Diaz, a prominent figure in Hollywood throughout the 1990s and 2000s, embarked on her acting journey at the age of 21, making a memorable debut opposite Jim Carrey in “The Mask” over three decades ago.

Initially celebrated for her lighthearted and comedic performances in popular romantic comedies like “My Best Friend’s Wedding” and laugh-out-loud hits such as “There’s Something About Mary,” Diaz later showcased her versatility by taking on more serious roles in critically acclaimed films like “Being John Malkovich” and Martin Scorsese’s epic “Gangs of New York.”

However, after portraying Miss Hannigan in the 2014 remake of the musical “Annie,” Diaz stepped away from the limelight. In 2018, she officially confirmed her “retirement” from acting, expressing her contentment with a life focused on family. “I was free to be [like] ‘I’m a mum, I’m a wife, I’m living my life’ – it was so lovely,” she explained.

Diaz described her decade-long hiatus as “the best 10 years” of her life, clearly relishing her time away from the demands of Hollywood. Yet, the allure of the screen proved strong enough to draw her back. Earlier this year, she made her return to acting in the spy thriller “Back in Action,” sharing the screen once again with actor Jamie Foxx, marking a new chapter in her storied career.
